League Toolkit
Girls With Game
Since it launched in 2019, the Little League® Girls with Game Initiative has been dedicated to honoring all the girls and women who have made the Little League program what it is today and those who inspire the future generation of female participants at every level. From written stories and feature videos to inspiring quotes and photos across all its digital media platforms, the Girls with Game initiative celebrates the memorable moments, exciting events, and inspiring individuals throughout the Little League Baseball and Softball program all year long. Each March, in coordination with National Women’s History Month, Little League celebrates its own women’s history with Girls with Game Month across all its social media channels and at LittleLeague.org/GirlsWithGame.

Why are We Celebrating?
The health benefits and life skills learned from sports are numerous, but girls miss out on these essentials when they don’t play. It is imperative to offer and expand opportunities for females throughout the Little League program, knowing that girls who participate in sports have a higher self-esteem, increased confidence, improved physical health and body image, greater academic achievement, and are more likely to be future leaders. In addition, softball and baseball offer players a significant social support system corresponding to the top reason girls play sports – to make friends and be part of a team.
There’s a shortage of female coaches and volunteers throughout our local Little Leagues and the sports world. Currently, only a quarter of the 6.5 million youth sports coaches are women. Girls need female role models to stay in the game, seeing them as mentors and for what is possible, and both boys and girls benefit from positive images of female coaches.
With your support, we will continue to break barriers and create more opportunities for females in Little League and around the world. Help us celebrate! Play your part and share your @LittleLeague story! #GirlsWithGame
