The final day of Pool Play featured a couple of close games, a long weather delay (for lightning) and a 4 thundering displays of batting power.
Game 15: West scored first but Southeast answered, taking the lead in the 2nd and never looked back scoring 5 in the 5th to end the game on the 10 run rule.
Game 16: Asia Pacific beat the Host District 3 team in a close game where they led most of the game, and District 3 mounted a come back in the 7th, scoring 4 runs to close the score to 8-6, but that was as far as they could go.
Game 17: 3 batters into the game, a lightning storm stopped play for almost and hour and a half. When the weather cleared, Southwest scored 7 runs in the first and kept scoring – eventually adding 6 runs in the 7th to win 20-7. East made a run in the 5th, but it wasn’t enough.
Game 18: The same storm stopped play and when it resumed, Central put up 4 runs in the first, Europe scored 2 in the 2nd, but Central added 3 in the 4th and 6 runs in the top of the 5th to take a 14-4 lead. Europe wasn’t done, however, and they scored 4 in the 5th to continue the game. Central got another run in the 6th but that was where it ended; Central 15, Europe-Africa 7.
Game 19: Canada pounded out 15 hits and beat Europe-Africa 14-0 in 5 innings.
Game 20: Latin America and East played a close game which East won 5-4.
