Fans from around the world and members of the Lycoming County community are invited to come out to Historic Bowman Field on Saturday, August 17 to enjoy the first ever T-Mobile Little League® Home Run Derby Championship from 4 to 6 p.m. ET.
In May and June, local Little League programs from across the country held qualifying events to determine the top long-ball hitters from their community. From there, those qualifying participants advanced to either the East Region competition, held in Atlanta at SunTrust Park, or the West Region competition, held in Seattle at T-Mobile Park, to determine the final eight baseball and final eight softball hitters (four from each region) who are set to compete in the Championship Round on August 17.
A limited number of admission wristbands and parking placards will be distributed at the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau (102 West 4th Street) on a first-come, first-served basis during the hours as outlined below for fans wishing to attend the event:
- Friday, August 16 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, August 17 – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The use of public transportation is encouraged for all fans looking to attend the event on August 17. River Valley Transit will be providing additional fixed route service via the Fourth Street Route from the Third Street Parking Garage (115 West Third Street) with buses leaving every 10 minutes starting at 3 p.m. with the last service leaving at 3:50 p.m. Buses will be available following the conclusion of the event at 6 p.m.
For those who plan on driving, a parking placard will be required in order to be granted access into one of three lots in the proximity of Historic Bowman Field. Lots will be marked and staffed by River Valley Transit. As a reminder, parking passes will be distributed at the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau on a first-come, first-served basis.
In the event of inclement weather and/or the event being postponed to a later date, the rescheduled event will be closed to the general public. For updates, fans are encouraged to check Little League’s official social media platforms (@LittleLeague) on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
