Coquitlam Little League, the Canada Region Champions, collected its first 2019 Little League Baseball® World Series win with a four-inning 10-0 victory over Europe-Africa’s Emilia Romagna Little League.
Brady Dorwart earned the mound win for Canada. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, walking zero. Offensively, Canada’s Matt Shanley went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three runs batted in.
Elia Zaccarini took the loss for the Europe-Africa Region. One bright spot for the Italian team were two hits by Davide Lugli.
Piero Leon-Carney started the game for Canada. He and Dorwart surrendered zero runs on three hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero.
