Congratulations to the Golden Hill Little League All-Stars from Fullerton, Southern California, which captured the USA West regional championship in a 12-team tournament in San Jose, California. Golden Hill advances to the Junior League Baseball World Series August 11-18 in Taylor, Michigan. The So Cal state champs won the regional title with a 13-3 victory over the Northern California champs from the Livermore and Granada Little Leagues. Golden Hill went 5-0 during the week with wins over the state champs of Hawaii, Washington, Arizona, Oregon and No Cal. Other teams in the regional were the state champs of Alaska, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming and a host team from San Jose. Golden Hill is 16-0 since the start of post-season play. This will be Golden Hill’s second appearance in the JLWS. The league all-stars played in Taylor in 1985. This will be a homecoming for Golden Hill Coach Ed Kim, who was a member of the 1987 Junior League world champions from Rowland Heights, California.
