Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League, from Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan captured the 2018 Great Lakes Regional Championship by defeating New Albany Little League, from New Albany, Indiana, 13-0.
Indiana fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-0 loss to Michigan on Saturday. Michigan scored on a single by Oliver Service, a double by Brennan Hill, and a single by Cameron Schafer in the first inning.

The Indiana struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Michigan, giving up 13 runs.
Michigan got things started in the first inning. Oliver drove in one when he singled.
A double by Jack Beyl in the fourth inning was a positive for Indiana.
Brennan was the winning pitcher for Michigan. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Jack took the loss for Indiana. He lasted two innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out three.
Michigan tallied two home runs on the day. Jarren Purify went deep in the second inning. Brennan went for the long ball in the second inning.
Jack went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Indiana in hits.
Brennan led Michigan with two hits in three at bats. Michigan was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jake Martin made the most plays with nine.
