Japan put up seven runs in the second on its way to an 8-2 victory over Southeast on Sunday. Masato Igarashi, Masaumi Ikeuchi, Kai Nogami, and Shisei Fujimoto all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Masato pitched Japan to victory. He went four innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out five and walking zero. Yudai Yuasa and Shinji Furusawa entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Chase Fralick took the loss for Southeast. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking zero.
Japan launched one home run on the day. Masato had a four bagger in the second inning.
Japan collected nine hits. Shisei and Kai all had multiple hits for Japan. Kai and Shisei all had two hits to lead Japan.
