For many years, Little League International has paid for the first 125 free background checks for each local league and district. Those 125 free checks are available through J.D. Palatine (JDP). All background checks must be completed through JDP and will not be accepted through any other providers. JDP has access to more than 600 million records, including criminal records and sex offender registry records across 50 states and the District of Columbia.
For Leagues not using the Sports Connect Platform, Little League recommends utilizing the JDP QuickApp, which allows local league volunteers to complete their own volunteer application and background check on a secure site separate from the player registration process. Leagues must still verify that the information on the Little League Volunteer Application is correct by reviewing the potential volunteer’s government-issued photo ID.
