Since 2005, Little League International has teamed up with Pitch In For Baseball and Softball (PIFB/S) to help provide baseball and softball equipment to boys and girls in the United States and around the world who want to play ball, but lack the equipment to do so. In January 2018, PIFB launched Pitch In For Softball (PIFS), a sister brand focused exclusively on making softball more accessible by the same means as PIFB. PIFS is led by an Advisory Committee that includes 11-time National Champion Sue Enquist and Olympic medalists Natasha Watley and Crystl Bustos.
Pitch In For Baseball and Softball reduces barriers to play and promotes youth development by providing equipment directly to leagues, including chartered Little League programs, and community organizations around the world. The equipment helps these teams and leagues to start, continue, and/or expand their baseball or softball programs.
Over the past decade, PIFB has distributed more than $9 million worth of equipment help more than 800,000 children get on the field in every state in the US and more than 100 countries internationally. All local Little Leaguers® are encouraged to donate their gently used equipment to PIFB/S. For every donation made, another opportunity is created for a child to play baseball or softball. If your league wants to donate equipment or would like to receive a baseball or softball equipment grant from PIFBS, visit www.pifbs.org.
