Pat Wilson, Little League® Chief Operations Officer and the next President and CEO of the organization, as well as Christopher Owens, Media (Pa.) Little League Information Officer, and Molly Harrington of Horsham (Pa.) Little League, have been named recipients of the 2024 Stack MVP Awards, presented by Sports Connect.
Pat Wilson – 2024 Stack MVP Leader of the Year
Set to take over as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Little League program on January 1, 2025, Pat Wilson has been essential in building the Little League organization that we know today. He has forged deep relationships with key stakeholders, including those dedicated community volunteers and partners; he has passionately focused his efforts to expand the program internationally; he has created access and opportunity through programming and grant support to underserved communities; and, among his many other achievements, he has implemented research-backed programmatic and operational changes to improve the safety and quality of play for young athletes.
The Stack MVP Leader of the Year Award goes to individuals who are unbelievably impactful in the world of sports and recognizes the guidance and vision they provide for their sports communities.
Christopher Owens – 2024 Stack MVP Community Leader of the Year
In the more than two decades he has spent on Media LL’s board of directors, Christopher Owens has filled many roles to help the program grow and find its place in the community. With his background in information technology, Mr. Owens has increased the league’s visibility by establishing an online presence and has also played a major role in fundraising efforts and volunteer coordination. In 2022, the league’s clubhouse was named after him for his selfless work ethic, strong advocacy for players and their families, positive attitude, and empowering leadership. On April 22, Mr. Owens was also recognized as a Little League Community Hero, Presented by New York Life, for his commitment to the program.
The Stack MVP Community Leader of the Year Award goes to individuals who have made a profound impact on the world of sports and their community. Through their guidance and vision, they contribute to the shape and future of our beloved sports community. Their leadership inspires others and fosters growth, ensuring sports remain the cornerstone of community engagement and development.
Molly Harrington – 2024 Stack MVP Volunteer of the Year
A graduate of the Horsham (Pa.) Little League Program, Molly Harrington has brought the life lessons she learned in Little League to her own community through the efforts of “Play It Forward,” an initiative started in 2018 by Molly and her sister after realizing they had a garage filled with unused sporting equipment that could go to families in need. Since then, they have helped collect more than 8,100 items to equip more than 780 young athletes in 10 nearby communities with equipment for baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey to help break down barriers of entry within her own community.
The Stack MVP Volunteer of the Year Award goes to outstanding individuals who embody the true spirit of volunteerism in youth sports. Their selfless dedication and unwavering commitment had made a significant impact on the lives of athletes and the community as a whole. These volunteers inspire others through their passion and determination, making a lasting difference in the world of sports.
