Each month, Little League® International is providing a quick look at important information and events for the month ahead. We invite you to review and share with your colleagues and friends. Another great resource for keeping up to date on Little League’s latest training and educational efforts is Little League University. Designed for volunteers, league and District Administrators, coaches, and parents, this free website is a wonderful portal for experiencing and learning about the Little League.

Little League Celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD)

In coordination with the 31st Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), celebrated on February 1, Little League Baseball and Softball will be spending the month of February honoring girls and women who have impacted Little League over the years. Throughout the month, Little League will be sharing stories across its digital platforms of young girls and women who have influenced the games of baseball and softball, volunteers who have shown commitment to the game, and other examples of ways that the dedicated members of Little League are working to expand opportunities around the world for young girls to become involved in sports. 2017 Little League Rulebooks Now Available

The 2017 Little League Official Regulations, Playing Rules, and Policies for Little League Baseball®, Little League Softball®, and Little League Challenger Division®are now available in print at the Little League Store, as well as in e-book editions on both the Apple and Android e-book stores. Also available for sale with the 2017 rulebooks at the Little League Store are other League Essentials, such as the Tee Ball Training Manual and Make the Right Call Book. Important Reminders for Local League Operations

Opening day is quickly approaching, so be sure to use the early part of February to finalize all your information for the upcoming season. Here are some of the important things that your league should be considering this month, and some resources from Little League University to help guide the way. For these tips, as well as additional information, be sure to check out the Little League Bulletin Board each month.

• NEW FOR 2017: Conduct criminal background checks on all volunteers

• Prepare and organize the player draft

• Final reminder for registration for the 2017 season

• Upload player registration information and team numbers to Data Center

• Order official Little League patches for 2017 uniforms

• New volunteer applications and returning volunteer applications

• Start preparing finances for tax returns

• Begin organizing for tryouts and opening day

2017 Little League World Series Logos Unveiled

Little League International has officially unveiled the logos that will be used for each of its seven World Series events during the 2017 Little League International Tournaments. Each of the respective logos will be used on the official jerseys, as a part of ESPN’s coverage of the 2017 Little League World Series events, on merchandise, and in publications.

Little League Looking For Parents, Coaches, and Volunteers to Share Their #TeeBallTales

Starting in December 2016, Little League launched a digital campaign known as #TeeBallTuesday that highlights the Fun, Fitness, and Fundamentals of the Little League Tee Ball Program will help promote and educate Tee Ball coaches, parents, and volunteers. As part of the campaign, Little League is asking parents, coaches, and other volunteers to share their “Tee Ball Tales” by e-mailing their story to [email protected] and by using #TeeBallTales and #TeeBallTuesday on social media.

2018 Little League International Congress Website Launched

With one year to go until the Opening Ceremonies of the 27th Little League International Congress at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, La., Little League is looking forward to bringing volunteers from around the world together from January 19-22, 2018. In preparation for the 2018 Little League International Congress, an official website for the event has been created at LittleLeague.org/Congress and will include all relevant information as it becomes available.
