Created in 1991, the Mom of the Year Award has been recognizing the numerous mothers who have been putting forth an effort to make Little League an enjoyable experience incredible especially for their children.
“Little League is pleased to recognize Mrs. Manahan as the 2015 Little League Mom of the Year,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO. “Like so many Little League moms, Mrs. Manahan has dedicated countless hours to ensure her son and his friends and teammates have meaningful Little League experiences. We’re proud to recognize her hard work and commitment at the 2015 Little League Baseball World Series.”
“I’m blown away that I was awarded this honor,” said Mrs. Manahan. “Little League is an entirely volunteer-run organization that takes the support of a lot of people to run smoothly, and I’m happy that I have been able to be a part of that for our community.”
Nicolas made it clear how he feels about his mom, writing: “My mom deserves this (award) for almost an entire week.”
Mrs. Manahan will be recognized at a breakfast and during an on-field ceremony at the 2015 Little League Baseball World Series.
Over the course of 10 days, 32 games will be played in the 69th Little League Baseball World Series, concluding with the Little League Baseball World Series Championship Game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30.
