Little League® Remembers West Virginia District 2 Administrator, Mike Vickers

Little League® International mourns the passing of Mike Vickers, former District Administrator (D.A.) for West Virginia District 2.

Vickers was a staple in the local sports community of Madison, West Virginia, helping in various ways for more than 50 years. After starting his volunteer service in the program as an umpire, Vickers moved upwards to become Madison Little League President, then West Virginia District 2 Assistant District Administrator (A.D.A.), before eventually becoming West Virginia District 2 Administrator for 20 years. Vickers was instrumental in organizing Special Games events for younger divisions of play as an A.D.A. and also established the Challenger Program for West Virginia District 2 during his tenure as D.A. Vickers often worked alongside his wife, Sandy, as the couple routinely volunteered for various local sport leagues in addition to their work with Little League.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughter and son-in-law, Sharyn and Lee Price; grandchildren, Tate, Ty, and Nichole; great grandson, Blake; nieces, Rhonda, Debbie, and Lesley; nephew, Richard; and sister-in-law, Joyce. He is preceded in death by his parents; Brady and Ruth; son, Arthur; brothers, Richard, Jack, Robert, and Robi; and in-laws, Oral and DeLola.
