Little League® International mourns the passing of Regina Strickland, former Director of the Little League Softball® World Series and Oregon District 1 Administrator. She was 74.
Mrs. Strickland, a native of Portland, graduated from Grant High School in 1961. She was an employee of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center for 45 years, serving as an emergency room unit secretary, chart, and data entry clerk.
A Little League® volunteer for more than 30 years, Mrs. Strickland served as Oregon District 1 Administrator for six years; and, in 1994, served as Tournament Director for the Little League Softball World Series at Alpenrose Dairy Farm in Portland. For many years, she continued to support the Little League Softball World Series in a variety of volunteer roles, including Assistant Tournament Director, Head Scorekeeper, and Tournament Historian.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband of 48 years, Frederick M. Strickland; and daughters: Luria D. Sheard; Shawn M. Terwilliger; and Dawn K. Cooper; son, Frederick H. Strickland; and five grandchildren.
