Little League® International has announced Jerry Benzie as its new Software Developer within the Information Technology department at its Headquarters in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, effective as of July 18, 2022.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jerry to our team as we look to enhance and develop our IT solutions for both our local league volunteers and our overall organization,” said Andy Frederick, Little League Senior Director of Information Technology. “Jerry’s skills and previous experience will continue to strengthen our organization and provide our volunteers with the best possible resources to support them and enhance the overall Little League experience for the children in their communities.”
Mr. Benzie brings more than a decade of tech experience with him to Williamsport, having spent time as a Data Networking Intern with The Hershey Company and an IT Programmer with Appvion Operations. He most recently worked for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Research & Business Technology Group as a Software Developer.
“I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to join the Little League team,” said Mr. Benzie. “I believe the work we do at Little League plays a very important part in supporting a child’s development in terms of social skills and teamwork and it’s great to now be a part of that.”
In his role with Little League, Mr. Benzie will work with a cross-functional team to provide full-stack software development for new and existing software systems as well as design and develop projects while interacting with third-party vendors and software services.
Mr. Benzie has accumulated three degrees throughout his career, most recently earning a master’s degree in Software Engineering from Kennesaw State University in 2017. He is also a two-time graduate of Mount Aloysius College, earning an associate degree in Medical Imaging in 2009 and a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology in 2011.
