This Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, the World of Little League® Museum and Official Store, located at 525 U.S. 15, will be offering its visitors a unique opportunity to play catch on the outfield grass of iconic Howard J. Lamade Stadium, the home of the Little League Baseball® World Series. As part of the event, all fathers will also receive free admission to the Museum.
For the fifth-straight year, all fathers (and mothers) who tour the World of Little League Museum on Father’s Day will be invited to play catch with their children from noon to 3 p.m. inside Lamade Stadium. Parents are required to sign waivers and all participants must have a ticket from visiting the Museum that Sunday to gain entrance to the field. Participants should bring their own gloves. Baseball bats are NOT allowed.
To commemorate the event, a limited-edition collector’s baseball will be offered at a discount to attendees.
The annual Father’s Day Catch event also marks the first day of “National Play Catch Week,” a celebrated week focused on encouraging people from around the world to pick up a ball, grab a buddy, and head out to the nearest park or green space and #PlayCatch.
Along with the Father’s Day event, the World of Little League Museum is also participating in the National Blue Star Museums Program, a nationwide program that opens more than 2,000 museums at no cost to veterans and active military personnel with proper identification. The Blue Star Museum program operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Sept. 4; however, the World of Little League Museum also offers free admission for veterans every day.
