On Saturday, July 14, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Little League® International will hold a free event for families at the Little League International Complex, with opportunities for children to have fun and play on the Little League Baseball® World Series stadium fields.
Held in coordination with Major League Baseball through the “Play Ball” initiative, the Little League Play Ball Event invites children to come out and experience a variety of different fun and skill-developing activities on the same fields where the Little League Baseball World Series are held each year.
The event is open to all children ages 5 to 12, and all participants must be registered. Check in for the event will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the first 300 participants to check-in will also receive a free Play Ball Bat Kit. Various activities will run between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both Howard J. Lamade and Volunteer Stadiums, with each session lasting approximately one hour. Participants can join/exit sessions at any time throughout the day. Also, the Easton Hit Lab will be on-site for all children. In addition, the World of Little League® Museum and Official Store, Little League Stadium Gift Shop, and Concession Stand will also be open throughout the Play Ball event.
Little League International will have some equipment available, but participants are encouraged to wear athletic gear and rubber-molded cleats and to bring their personal fielding gloves.
