Little League is proud to congratulate Todd Frazier on his 2015 Home Run Derby championship, and looks forward to celebrating his future accomplishments!
There have been 45 people who have played in the Little League Baseball® World Series and advanced to the Major League level. Only one of them has won the MLB Home Run Derby – Todd Frazier.
Competing on his home field in Cincinnati, with his older brother Charlie serving as his pitcher, Frazier used his quick swing, the energy from the crowd, and pure power to muscle his way to become the 2015 MLB Home Run Derby Champion, after finishing as runner-up last year in Minneapolis.
Frazier knows a few things about hitting home runs. As a member of the the 1998 Little League Baseball World Series Championship Team from Toms River (N.J.) East American Little League, Frazier hit a home run in every game he appeared in except for one. In the five games his team played, he went 9 for 15 with four home runs (including a grand slam), drove in 10 RBI, and scored 11 runs. In the Championship Game alone, he went 4 for 4 with a lead-off home run and was the winning pitcher.
A consummate sportsman, Frazier has displayed the character, courage, and loyalty that is at the heart of Little League®, both on the field and off. He led relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy devastated his hometown of Toms River, N.J., and has developed a special bond with the Cincinnati Reds bat boy, Teddy Kramer, who has Down syndrome.
