Little League® International has announced Brant Durden as its new Southwest Region Assistant Director, effective February 18, 2025.
In his role, Durden will assist Blaine Whitmire, Little League Southwest Region Director, in supporting the day-to-day operations of the district, leagues, and volunteers across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Durden will also help with the effective operations of the respective Little League Baseball and Softball Southwest Region tournaments to ensure all volunteers, players, and coaches have a safe and fun experience.
“We are very excited to have Brant joining us in the Southwest Region as our new Assistant Region Director,” said Whitmire. “Brant’s experience in sports management and events, as well as his volunteer work with the youth of the Boys and Girls Club of America, will make him a valuable asset to our team as he works with local leagues volunteers, players, and coaches to ensure a safe and memorable experience.”
Before joining the Little League team, Durden most recently worked for the Houston Texans, promoting fan engagement at training camps, assisting with operations at the stadium, and assisting the Texans management team with event logistics. Durden also has experience working for the Harris County Houston Sports Authority in their Athletes Affairs department.
“I am beyond excited to be joining the Little League team in Waco and being able to help contribute to the Little League story,” said Durden. “I look forward to using my background in the sports industry to help give the players, families, and volunteers of the Southwest Region the best Little League experience possible.”
Durden graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston where he majored in sports administration and minored in business administration. Outside of his professional work, Durden has volunteered with the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the Boys and Girls Club of America, as well as multiple events including the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open, the 2023 Houston Sports Awards, and as a volunteer lead for the Men’s Final Four and college football playoffs.
