Little League® International has announced Blaine Whitmire as the new Southwest Region Director, based at the George W. Bush Little League Center in Waco, Texas, effective as of March 28, 2022.
“On behalf of all the volunteers, players, and staff throughout the Southwest Region, we are pleased to welcome Blaine as the new Region Director,” said Jen Colvin, Little League Regional Operations Managing Director, Southeast and Southwest. “In addition to the support and guidance he will give our volunteers throughout the year, Blaine’s background and experience in coordinating and operating athletic tournaments will help us to provide our leagues with a memorable tournament experience each summer. We look forward to having him on our team and are excited for the future of the Southwest Region.”
In this role, under the supervision and guidance of Ms. Colvin, Mr. Whitmire will administer districts, leagues, and volunteers in Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, as well as also oversee the Southwest Region Tournaments for Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball®.

A former U.S. Navy Operations Specialist, Mr. Whitmire joins the Little League team after spending more than two decades as a Detention Supervisor for the Farmers Branch (Texas) Police Department. Over the past year, Mr. Whitmire has also served as a live sports statistician for Genius Sports, as well as a Fangineer-Floor Captain for Horned Frogs Hospitality/REVEL XP, serving as a liaison between premium guests and staff members for TCU Athletics events.
Throughout his career, Mr. Whitmire has also served as a Tournament Coordinator for the U90C Management Group, an intern for Texas AirHogs Baseball, as well as a volunteer for various athletic tournaments including the 2021 NIT Basketball Tournament, 2021 Texas State Cup Soccer Tournament, 2021 State Fair Classic Football Game, 2021 Spring Kickoff Soccer Tournament, and 2020 Conference USA Basketball Tournament.
Mr. Whitmire graduated from the University of North Texas in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship, and in 2021 completed his MBA in Sport Entertainment Management from the same University.
