Focused on continuing to provide a fun and memorable tournament-style experience to children in select underserved communities across the United States, the 2025 Little League® Urban Initiative Jamborees are once again set to host seven events across six states.
Among the locations hosting events in 2025 is Highland, California, which held a Softball Jamboree for the first time in 2024, bringing eight softball programs from across California together for a weekend of fun and memories. The first-ever event in that community also coincided with the organization’s Girls with Game 50 Celebration in 2024, honoring 50 years of girls and women in the Little League program as well as the gold anniversary of the birth of the Little League Softball® program.
Below are the dates and locations for the 2025 Little League Urban Initiative Jamborees:
- April 25–27: California Baseball Jamboree (Los Angeles, Calif.)
- May 2–4: California Softball Jamboree (Highland, Calif.)
- May 16–18: Texas Baseball Jamboree (Houston, Texas)
- May 30–June 1: New Mexico Jamboree (Isleta, N.M.)
- May 30–June 1: East Region Softball Jamboree (Washington, D.C.)
- June 20–22: New York Metro Baseball Jamboree (Bronx, N.Y.)
- June 27–29: Central Region Baseball Jamboree (Chicago, Ill.)
Inspired by the Little League World Series, the Little League Urban Initiative Jamboree was first established in 2004 with one national tournament, and in 2010 was expanded to region-based events. At these Jamborees, teams compete in a weekend-long tournament with the championship game typically being played on Sunday afternoon.
About Little League® Urban Initiative
Established in 1999 to provide opportunities for groups in underserved communities to reap the benefits of having local Little League programs in their neighborhoods, the Little League Urban Initiative has helped tens of thousands of children and volunteers in cities throughout the United States. These Jamborees are unique events to bring players from local programs that benefit from the support of the Urban Initiative together for a weekend of camaraderie and competition.
An important piece of Little League’s continued strategic efforts around access and experience, the Little League Urban Initiative has provided opportunities for underserved communities to have access to Little League programs, which has benefited tens of thousands of children and volunteers across the country since its creation. The program gives opportunities to over 50,000 players and 4,000 Little League teams and has helped complete nearly 30 field renovation projects around the country during that time. In recent years, the Urban Initiative has also seen continued support through the organization’s Official Sponsors thanks to programs like the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant, DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Grants, and the Gatorade Hydration Kit program.
