The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) will host its third in a series of twelve monthly “Centennial Surprise” gifts to the community on Saturday, March 19, 2016. FCFP is offering a free day to “celebrate your heritage” at local museums and historical societies.
Participating museums and historical societies throughout FCFP’s service area – Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties – include: Blooming Grove Meetinghouse, Joseph Priestley House, Lycoming County Historical Society & Thomas T. Taber Museum, Mifflinburg Buggy Museum, Milton Historical Society, Packwood House Museum, Peter Herdic Transportation Museum, Rowley House Museum Preservation of Williamsport, Slifer House Museum, and the World of Little League Museum. Guests who visit one of the participating museums or historical societies on March 19 will receive a heritage “passport”. This passport allows those that visit on any day between March 19 and April 9 the opportunity to be admitted for free and have this passport stamped to verify their visit to the museum or historical society.
Community members that visit at least three (3) museums or historical societies before April 9 will be entered into a random drawing to win a VIP experience for four (4) people at future centennial surprise events throughout the remainder of the year. Completed passports must be returned to FCFP by April 11 to be eligible.
2016 marks FCFP’s centennial year. As part of the centennial celebration, FCFP will unveil monthly surprise events throughout the year that will be free to the public. In February, FCFP provided a “Winning Combination” and hosted former NFL Steeler, Hines Ward, for a free public presentation. More information on upcoming events can be obtained at www.FCFP100.org.
