With the Major League Baseball season well underway, and the celebration of the 65th National Little League Week wrapping up, local Little League® programs across the nation were thrilled to celebrate PLAY BALL Weekend on June 14-16, 2024.
As part of the weekend’s festivities, five local Little League programs across the United States also teamed up with Musco Lighting, the Official Sports Lighting System of Little League, to “Play Ball Under the Lights,” bringing their community together for a night of fun and excitement. Check out some of the great moments from these five participating leagues below:
Elgin (Ill.) National Little League
SYA Little League (Clifton, Va.)
North Houston Area (Texas) American Little League
Elmora Youth Little League (Elizabeth, N.J.)
Vineyard Little League (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.)
In addition to the celebration of these five leagues, local Little League programs across the country celebrated in their own communities and took advantage of opportunities held at the 30 MLB Clubs and 120 Minor League Baseball teams throughout the weekend. Be sure to catch up on all the fun and excitement from the weekend by checking out the #PlayBallWeekend on social media and scrolling through MLB’s Play Ball accounts on Facebook, Twitter/X, and Instagram.
PLAY BALL WEEKEND is a worldwide effort to inspire participation in baseball and softball through activities hosted by MLB, MiLB & Partner League Clubs, MLB’s international offices throughout the world, and youth league partners. A primary focus of PLAY BALL WEEKEND is about connecting with youth from different backgrounds, while closing equity gaps to accessing the game, and encouraging kids, families and communities to PLAY BALL all summer long.
