Little League® International mourns the passing of a former Pennsylvania District 22 Administrator and State Coordinator Earle Mercadante. He was 81.
Mr. Mercadante, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was a resident of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, at the time of his passing. He began his service to the Little League program in 1972, with the Plymouth Meeting Little League, serving as a coach, umpire, and League President. In 1994, Mr. Mercadante was elected Pennsylvania District 22 Administrator, and later served as Little League’s Pennsylvania State Coordinator. He was re-elected as PA 22 D.A. in 2008, and served until 2014.
A self-taught Mechanical Engineer, the majority of Mr. Mercadante’s career was spend working in pharmaceutical plants. A veteran of military service, he was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a PFC E2.
Mr. Mercadante is survived by his wife, Eleanor; daughter, April; and son, William; brothers, Joseph and George; sisters, Marguerite, Wilma, and Ria; and granddaughter, Mia. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dora; and son, Eric.
