New England Sports Network, Madison Square
Garden Network to Televise LLB New England, Mid-Atlantic Region
Tournament Games
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (April 14, 2008) – Little
League International has formed a unique partnership with the New
England Sports Network (NESN) and the Madison Square Garden network
(MSG) to televise the New England and Mid-Atlantic Little League
Baseball regional tournaments. The partnership marks the first time
that regional sports networks have combined production resources to
deliver live coverage of Little League Baseball.
“Little League International is pleased that these games will be
available to millions of viewers in New England and the Mid-Atlantic,”
Stephen D. Keener, President and Chief Executive Officer of Little
League International, said. “Our partnership with NESN and MSG Network
will further enhance Little League’s longtime leadership in youth
sports by showcasing not only outstanding young athletes, but to
display Little League’s commitment to provide a fun, safe and healthy
program for the whole family.”
The two networks will have the exclusive rights to televise the Little
League Baseball regional tournament games from Bristol, Conn., with
the exception of the respective regional Championship Games, which
will be televised on the ESPN family of networks.
The multi-year agreement is the first of its kind granting a regional
sports network the right to televise the Little League regional
tournament games that ultimately will determine each region’s
representative at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
The New England Regional Tournament begins on Aug. 1 and concludes
with the Championship Game on Aug. 9. The Mid-Atlantic Regional
Tournament dates are Aug. 1-11.
“We are thrilled to add Little League Baseball to our lineup of sports
programming,” Joel Feld, NESN’s Vice President of Programming and
Executive Producer. “The Little League tournament is great family
entertainment and an annual event that brings our entire region
together. It’s complementary to our Red Sox coverage and reinforces
our mission to deliver the very best programming to all fans of New
England sports.”
The New England regional tournament features the region’s six Little
League state champions from Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire,
Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
“MSG boasts an extensive lineup of local, regional and national live
sports programming and we are excited to partner with NESN to add
Little League Baseball to our growing slate,” Lydia Murphy-Stephans,
Executive Vice President of Programming and Production for MSG Media,
said. “These games will diversify our live sports programming during
the summer, anchored by our exclusive coverage of the WNBA’s New York
Liberty and Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls, and reinforce
that MSG is the network to watch for the most sports and entertainment
coverage in New York.”
The Mid-Atlantic region consists of New York, New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C.
The two tournaments are played simultaneously at Breen Field in
Bristol, Conn., site of the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League
Leadership Training Center. NESN and MSG Network will each televise at
least four games from their respective regional tournaments including
both semifinal games in primetime.

About MSG
The MSG Television network debuted on October 15, 1969 with a National
Hockey League game between the New York Rangers and the Minnesota

world. The network has been owned throughout its history by the owners
of Madison Square Garden in New York City, as well as the New York
Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Rangers, and
now the WNBA’s New York Liberty. Cablevision is currently the managing
partner of Madison Square Garden.
