Registration Promotion Kit

The Little League Registration Promotion Kit is designed to provide your chartered league with resources to market and promote your league registration. Enclosed in the kit are a registration flier, a customizable newspaper ad, a promotional media release and a registration media release. Below are recommended methods for their use.

Registration Flyer

The flier is designed to be customized with information pertinent to the local league. After placing the appropriate information on the poster, take it to a local copy center or to a volunteer with a quality copier, and make as many copies as needed. The full-color versions are great for placing on bulletin boards, in league sponsors’ windows, at the field or other high traffic areas. The "grayscale" versions are cost-effective to duplicate as individual fliers for distribution through schools and other gathering places. A variety of fliers have been produced to help leagues target their marketing effectively.

Ads

This resource can be used if the league desires to place an ad in the local newspaper. It is a standard two columns by 4 inches deep. Just like the registration flier, the ad slicks designated "with form" have the ability to be customized with your league's information. Many newspapers have the ability to place your league information in the ad for you so we have also included a version without the form on it. Send your newspaper to this site to download it for you or download the appropriate ad and attach it to an E-mail you send to the newspaper. Again, the ads have several target audiences so choose the one that best fits your league. Finally, consider placing multiple ads. This will help get the word out about your registration and newspapers usually give price breaks for multiple insertions.

Promotional Media Release

This promotional media release can be used to generally inform everyone that your league is gearing up for another season. Simply fill in the pertinent information for your league in the space provided. You may elect to retype the release with your league information in it to make a clean copy. Once a clean copy of the release is ready, send to television stations, newspapers and radio stations in your area. This piece may be used at any time prior to the season opener.

The Registration Media release can be customized with your local league information. Be sure to utilize multiple dates to give ample opportunities for registration. Simply fill in the pertinent information for your league in the space provided. You may elect to retype the release with your league information in it to make a clean copy. This piece should be sent to local media companies approximately 30 days prior to your league's first registration.

Additional Tips for a Successful Registration

• Call last year's player members. When calling, ask them to spread the word about registrations to their friends. Your league may elect to have a membership drive contest with rewards to the highest player members referring new player members.
• Place information at libraries, on public bulletin boards, and as public service announcements on local radio stations and cable channels. This type of publicity is usually free and is quite effective.
• Ask local radio stations if they have a talk show where league representatives can appear. Usually, small radio stations have local community news shows that attract many listeners. This would be a great opportunity to recruit both players and volunteers.
