Why Whitestown?

During its annual August meeting in 2018, the Little League® International Board of Directors approved an offer to relocate its Central Region Headquarters to Whitestown, Indiana. After an initial decision to move to Zionsville in 2017 was unable to be fulfilled, the Little League International Board of Directors, committed to relocate within the Indianapolis area, ultimately decided that the optimal parcel of land in the nearby communities was the one identified in Whitestown. Remaining in the Zionsville-Whitestown community allowed Little League to continue to work with individuals who have been involved in the project since the beginning stages and provide those neighboring communities with the opportunities they were committed to.

Overall, the land in Whitestown met the requirements listed in the initial Request for Proposal from Little League International and allows for a family-friendly environment for the tournaments and events held each year at the complex. Whitestown has been very committed to this project and has been a supporting community that appreciates and understands the ideals of Little League. We are looking forward to the continued support and dedication of the entire community as we work together to bring Little League Baseball and Softball home to Whitestown.

Construction of the new complex officially began on July 23, 2020 and on June 26, 2021, Little League welcomed the Whitestown community for the official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony as it geared up to host the Little League Softball® Central Region Tournament and Little League Baseball® Great Lakes and Midwest Tournaments.

Established in 1989, the Central Region Headquarters is one of five Little League regional offices located in the United States and serves as the administrative center for Little League Baseball and Softball activities in Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
